Feels Like Home

Dil Chahat Hai’ might be the first movie in post Millennium to explore the bromance in Bollywood properly.
Before that, there were movies with brotherhood, sisterhood, and even golden age movies like ‘Dosti‘ was more of the brutal hitting testament of friendship. Taking the idea from Bollywood hit “Pyaar Ka Panchanama“, Feels Like Home is a six-part situational comedy revolving around the chemistry of four college housemates and their easy repartee.

Beauty is the slave of the Youth and there is no time like Youth College life for us. Feels Like Home revolves around Lakshay (a privileged party), Avinash (heartbroken party animal), Sameer (timid poet cum philosopher), and Akhil(a homesick newbie) in a plush bungalow titled Banchhod Nivas. Every night is party night at Banchhod Nivas where a stream of drinks flows and the party never ends. Each episode has some slice-of-life theme that highlights the vulnerability of youth regarding love, relationships, break-ups, peer pressure, etc.

While the premise of the show seems to be inspired by the 90s hit American sit-com show “FRIENDS“, the screenplay and its treatment are totally desi and original. Though the show revolves around bromance, there are some episodes dedicated to show life from girls perspective too. There is also LGTBQ issue being raised neither being preachy nor ridiculous.

Overall the show from Loinsgate, new platform in India, is refreshing and entertaining.

If its on OTT, Raven is always ready to binge on it and give his personal feedback regarding how good or bad is the show. Luckily we have saved lots of hours and trauma due to his strong and harsh feedback feedback.
